According to the CEO of Zagros Group Delsoz Sherwani, the investment potential of Kurdistan is enormous. Zagros Group represents a leading conglomerate of companies in the Kurdistan Region.
Mr. Sherwani adds that the investors are mainly concerned with a lack of a solid banking system, laws to protect their capital and investments and return on their investment.

As for the investment opportunities, Mr. Sherwani believes that the success of real-estate attracted many players in the sector – since real-estate is relatively low risk, short-term investment – but notes that more long-term strategic investment into heavy industries and industry in general is steadily happening – a sector with long-term profitability curve.

Furthermore he adds that investors should start contemplating other sectors than real-estate and oil and gas as tremendous opportunities exist in tourism and agriculture among others.
